Thinking about booking a stay at The House in Deal? Here are answers to some of the most common questions guests have before they stay with us. If you can’t find what you’re looking for please do get in touch here.

1. Where is the house located and how close is it to the beach or town centre?

The House in Deal is perfectly placed: it’s just a 5 minute walk to the beach, 4 minutes to the high street, and 2 minutes to the train station. You’ll be close enough to enjoy everything, yet tucked away in a quiet street for a restful stay.

2. How many people does the house sleep and how are the bedrooms set up?

The House in Deal comfortably sleeps up to five guests: there are two bedrooms, one with a king-sized bed and one with a double bed. This bedroom also has a single chair which will be made up into a bed on request. Fresh bed linen is provided, so you can settle in straight away.

3. Is parking available nearby?

Although The House in Deal is in a residents parking area, you can park for free for 2 hours, which gives you time to load / unload. Otherwise the nearest long stay carpark is on West St which is just a 5 minute walk.

4. Is the house suitable for children and families?

Absolutely! The House in Deal is definitely family-friendly. The layout is simple, the location is central, and the beach and castle are just a short stroll away. You’ll find toys, books (in the dining room) and games (in the sitting room chest). Our daughter loves her visits here, and we think your little ones will too!

5. Is the house dog-friendly and are there any restrictions?

Yes, dogs are very welcome at The House in Deal. We ask that they are well behaved and if paws are especially muddy, please try to keep them off the beds and furniture. Deal is a very dog-friendly town: you’ll find plenty of walks, pubs, and cafés that will happily welcome your four-legged friend.

6. What time is check-in and check-out, and how do I get the keys?

Check-in is any time after 4pm and check-out is by 11am. You can let yourself in using a secure lock box: we’ll send you the details in advance, so you can arrive at your own pace.

7. Are bed linen and towels provided?

Yup! We provide all bed linen and towels for your stay. We even have beach towels you can use!

8. What facilities are included?

We put a lot of thought and effort into this one, and our past reviews have shown that people really appreciated it! You’ll have everything you need for a comfortable stay: Wi-Fi, a smart TV, a fully equipped kitchen (basics like S&P and oil etc should always be there, as should tea and coffee). There’s a washing machine / dryer and airer, a microwave, plenty of pots, pans and cooking utensils for the oven. There’s even a slow cooker – there’s nothing like heading out for a long walk and and arriving home to the smell of a 6 hour stew! Yum! There are also plenty of cosy touches throughout, from blankets to hot water bottles. If you think we’re missing something: tell us!! We want The House in Deal to be the cosiest most comfortable house you’ve ever stayed in!

9. Are there supermarkets, pubs, cafés, or restaurants within walking distance?

Absolutely: Deal’s high street is just minutes away, filled with independent shops, lovely pubs, fabulous cafés, and there are some amazing restaurants in town.  There are two supermarkets both just a short walk from The House in Deal. Whether you want to cook at home or eat out, everything is on your doorstep.

Cancellation Policy

We know plans can change, so here’s how our refunds work:

• Changed your mind? Cancel within 48 hours of booking and get a full refund, as long as check-in is at least a week away.

• Short stays (2–13 nights): Cancel 7 days or more before check-in for 50% back. Less than 7 days before? Sorry, no refund.

• Longer stays (14+ nights): Cancel 14 days or more before check-in for 50% back. Less than 14 days before? No refund.

• Very long stays (28+ nights):  Cancel 28 days or more before check-in for 50% back. Once your stay begins, the first 30 nights are non-refundable. Any extra nights will be refunded at 50% if cancelled.
